Privacy Policy
Welcome to Bebop's privacy policy. We strive to protect the privacy of all Bebop users. Our services are provided through our mobile applications and website (the bebop app & www.bebop.app). In our Terms and Conditions/User Agreement and Privacy Statement, we refer to both our services and the site and applications as our "Service." Waggle V.O.F. (also referred to as "Waggle," "Bebop," "we," or "us") is responsible for the data processing associated with the Service, unless otherwise indicated.
We recommend that you read our privacy statement thoroughly and carefully before using our Service. You can only use the Service if you agree to our privacy policy and give us permission to use your personal data. We need this data to provide you with a properly functioning Service.

1. What data we collect about you
When you create a Bebop account, we process your personal data; you provide most of this data. For some other data, such as location data, IP address, etc., we ask your permission to access these. We process this data so we can provide our service properly; without this data, we cannot provide a properly functioning service. Below, we explain what data you provide us and what we use it for.
- First and last name: We want to know who you are. To create and maintain a secure platform, we need your full name. We only display your first name on the platform.
- Gender: We use this data exclusively for analysis (for example: do men order more than women?). We never share this data with other users.
- Date of birth: We use this data for analysis, but also to determine whether you are old enough to buy groceries, or order items that contain alcohol and/or tobacco. We also need it know whether you need permission from a parent or guardian to share your personal data. We never share this information with other users.
- Identity verification: We won't always ask you for this. However, to create and maintain a secure platform, we may ask you to identify yourself. We can do this, if there is any doubt about whether the information that has been entered is correct or not, (e.g. your age). This allows us to verify that your information is actually correct. Note: This information is only for verification and fraud prevention and we do not share it with anyone. If you send us a copy of your id, we will destroy/delete it immediately after verification.
- Address information: This information is necessary so we know where Beboppers should go and at which address we can reach you. Beboppers only see someone's exact address once they accept the task; before that, they only see a general neighbourhood on the map.
- Phone number(s): We don't share your phone number with anyone. Beboppers and customers send each other messages through the app and therefore don't see each other's phone numbers. We use your phone number to send you a confirmation text message and to contact you if necessary.
- Email address: We don't share your email address with anyone. We use it only to contact you, keep you informed of new promotions, or changing terms and conditions (provided you have consented to this).
- Payment information: To purchase Bebop credits, set up a direct debit, or subscribe, for example, we may ask you to provide certain financial information (such as your IBAN number, amount, product selection, payment method, etc.) to facilitate the payment/transaction. This information is shared with the payment processor (Payment Service Provider).
- Your activities and contributions on our website and app: This includes feedback, reviews, shopping lists, communication between customer and bebopper (if this occurs via the bebop chat), and the jobs you submit as a customer and accept as a bebopper. Bebop may use this information in the event of a dispute and find a suitable solution. We collect information about your interactions with our service, such as which pages/sections you use on our website or applications, and we use this information to improve our service. None of this data is shared with third parties, unless it is in clear violation of our User Agreement.
- Information from direct contact with Bebop or interaction with the app or site: This includes messages you send us via chat, email, letter, phone, etc., when you contact us or provide us with feedback (by email, mail, phone, text message, or chat). If you contact us by phone, notes are made of the conversation. We also collect your data when you contact the Bebopper/customer via the chat function in the app. This information may be important at a later date, for example, if a conflict arises.
- We only process health data if you indicate this in the Service. You can indicate that delivery personnel need to be aware of something (for example, carrying groceries to the kitchen because you have a broken arm).
We collect technical data about your mobile device or computer. This data is collected automatically when you use our service. You can choose to remain anonymous through your device and/or platform settings, but if you do so, we cannot guarantee that our service will function properly (for example, we need your location data to locate you on a map).
- (Mobile) payment methods: To purchase Bebop credits or subscribe to a subscription, we will ask for certain financial information to facilitate payment. This payment information is shared with the payment processor (Payment Service Provider).
- Location data: Location data is required for the service to function properly. This allows the app to notify beboppers when a job is nearby. If you have disabled this data on your phone or don't share it with us, we cannot provide a properly functioning service.
- IP address: Bebop operates in multiple locations. We can use your IP address to determine your location. This way, we keep you informed about specific activities in your area. We will also use the data for analysis: which cities and neighbourhoods visit our service most often?
- Device, operating system, and provider: We want to ensure our application works properly on all devices, operating systems, and providers. We use this data to determine this.
Bebop may collect information about you from third parties; we combine this information with other information we already have. Below is an overview of the data we collect/receive from third parties and what we do with it.
- Third-party services: If, in a later stage, it becomes possible to log into your Bebop account with a third-party account (e.g., Facebook or Google), that third party will send us information such as profile information. This information varies depending on your privacy settings on that service.
- Reviews: If someone has written a reference/review about you, it will only be published on your profile with your permission.
- If you are under 16, we require the information described in Article 1 to properly provide our service. If you are under 16 and would like to use our service, this is only possible with the explicit permission of your parent or guardian. They must therefore agree to our storing and using your personal data. If we believe you have entered your information incorrectly, we may ask you to identify yourself with a copy or scan of a valid ID, as described in Article 10: Your Rights. If you, as a parent or guardian, believe your child has created an account without your explicit permission, please contact us.
2. Are you under 16?
We require the information described in Article 1 to properly provide our service.
3. How we use your data
In Section 1, we already explained what data we collect. Here, we explain in more detail how we use this data. We only process the data we collect about you if there is a reason to do so and this reason is permitted under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). For example, we process your data to provide you with the services you request. This data is necessary, for example, to connect customers and beboppers so that tasks can be processed correctly. Suppose you order groceries but don't provide an address. Then you won’t be able to use the service, simply because we wouldn’t know where the bebopper has to deliver the groceries. We use your data in the following cases:
- To provide a well-functioning service. Both Beboppers and customers are provided with the necessary data, because without this data we cannot provide a properly functioning service. For a more detailed description, see the article: "Sharing data with other users of the service."
- To contact you if necessary (for example, a problem has arisen with a task).
- To process payments.
- We also process your personal data if we have legitimate reasons for doing so, for example to tailor our services to your personal preferences.
- To analyse your activities on the sites for the administration, support, improvement and development of our business operations and for statistical and analytical purposes and to prevent fraud.
- To enforce the terms of agreements and other agreements entered into with you. To institute or defend legal claims and to protect the rights of Bebop, partners, fellow users of the Service (customers and Beboppers), including preventing fraud.
- If you give us permission to contact you via newsletters, email, or phone about promotions, discounts, marketing campaigns, or to ask for your participation in questionnaires or customer satisfaction surveys. You can unsubscribe from this service at any time; you can do so by emailing privacy@bebop.app.
- We may send you push notifications to inform you about offers, new features, or services you've requested. You can opt out of receiving these push notifications at any time by changing your preferences on your mobile device.
- To keep you informed of important changes to the service, services, privacy statement, or user agreement. You will always have to re-accept important changes to the user agreement or privacy statement.
- Your contributions to the service, such as feedback, reviews about the service, or from a bebop user or customer, may be used for marketing purposes. In these cases, we ensure that these contributions cannot be traced back to you as a specific person. We do this by never mentioning your last name and city/town, replacing your first name with a random other name, and checking whether the text itself contains no identifiable details.
- If abuse of our Service is detected, we may delete the user's account and deny them access to our Service. In these cases, we do retain personal data (our blacklist) so that this user cannot create a new account.
- When we rely on our legitimate interests as a legal basis for processing your data, we conduct a balancing test to determine whether the processing is necessary and whether your fundamental privacy rights do not outweigh our legitimate interests. If you would like more information about this balancing test, please contact us.
In the event we are subject to legal obligations or applicable regulations, we may use your data to maintain records of your use of the Service.
4. Third-party websites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. Bebop's User Agreement and Privacy Policy apply only to the Bebop Service itself. Whenever you use a link to a third party, their respective privacy policy and terms apply.
5. How and with whom you share data
Bebop does not sell or trade any of your data. We use your data internally, as indicated in Articles 1 and 3. Only strictly necessary data is shared with third parties if this is necessary for the provision of the service:
Bebop users among themselves: This is essential to make the service work. A customer's first name (or alias/handle), address, delivery time, description of the work, and estimated costs are shared with the Bebopper so the job can be performed correctly. Customers, in turn, see the Bebopper's first name. Users are obligated to keep this information confidential, as laid down in our Terms and Conditions.
IT and cloud service providers: Bebop uses reliable partners for hosting, databases, data storage, and analytics (such as cloud and analysis services). We have concluded strict data processing agreements with these parties to ensure that your data is optimally secured.
Payment service providers and fraud detection: To facilitate payments (such as credit card transactions or Wero) and to perform fraud checks, we share the necessary financial data with our payment service provider.
Customer support partners: partners that help us to resolve any problems or questions via customer service quickly and efficiently.
Marketing partners: Only if you have given explicit consent can advertising and marketing companies hired by us process data on behalf of Bebop. We also conclude a data processing agreement with them.
Commercial partners (Credits+): Bebop offers the option to purchase Credits+. This is Credit sold by Bebop in combination with a product sold by one of our partners (such as a T-shirt). In that case, we only share the necessary data (such as your address for shipping) with the respective partner as soon as you finalize the purchase. Upon purchase, we always clearly indicate which data is involved. You can also always choose to buy the items separately to prevent this data sharing.
Business transfer
If Bebop is sold, merges, or enters into an intensive collaboration with another company in the future, your data may be transferred to or shared with the relevant party(ies). You will, of course, be informed about this in advance.
Legal obligations and safety
We may disclose or share your personal data with third parties (such as law enforcement, emergency services, or external advisors) in the following cases:
Legal Compliance: To comply with a statutory obligation, regulation, or an official request from the police or authorities.
Fraud Prevention: To detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, which may include exchanging information with other specialized companies or organizations.
Contract Enforcement: To enforce compliance with our User Agreement or any other contracts we have with you.
Safety & Protection: To protect the rights, property, safety, and well-being of Bebop, our users (Beboppers and customers), or the general public.
Emergency Situations: When reasonably necessary to establish, detect, or prevent crimes, accidents, or urgent medical emergencies.
Within the EEA: Bebop is a Dutch company and only active within the Netherlands. In principle, your data is always stored and processed within the European Economic Area (EEA).
6. Retention period of your data
The data we collect will be retained for as long as necessary for the purposes described in Article 2, in accordance with our legitimate interests, or for the period prescribed by applicable law or regulation, for example, for reporting purposes. When determining the applicable retention periods, we consider the following factors, among others:
Our contractual obligations and rights regarding the data in question.
Legal obligations to retain data for a certain period.
Statutory limitation periods under applicable law.
Our legitimate interests for processing. We have performed a balancing of interests for this purpose; see Article 3.
The occurrence of (potential) disputes.
The guidelines issued by the Dutch Data Protection Authority. In all other cases, your personal data will be erased as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
7. In case of fraud
We monitor our users for fraud. If we suspect fraudulent activity, we may block your account, preventing you from using our platform. We will report this to the relevant authorities if necessary.
This is necessary to provide the services agreed upon with users. We do this by verifying whether payment is being made for services deployed on our platform, verifying that the personal data provided is correct (Bebop may ask you to identify yourself in these cases), and verifying that our service is not being misused for other types of fraud.
Our fraud checks and decisions are dynamic. This means they may change depending on new types of fraud observed at any given time. All these checks are in place to protect our users, Bebop, Bebop employees, and our partners.
If we block your account or take any other action based on suspicion of fraud, you have certain rights. Please read the "Your Rights" section for more information. You have the right to object to a fraud-related decision we have made about you. You also have the right to obtain information about how such a decision was reached by contacting us.
8. Security
We take your privacy very seriously and have therefore implemented various organisational and technical security measures to adequately protect your personal data. This is an ongoing process; we continuously monitor whether our measures remain adequate and effective. These measures protect your data against unauthorized access, unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, and damage.
Be careful when sharing your information; handle passwords with care, for example. Careless use of your account could allow someone to access our service and view your data. You are responsible for your passwords, so do not share them with anyone.
Although we have taken measures to protect your personal data, transmitting data over the internet is never completely secure. We cannot fully guarantee the security of your data transmitted to us; therefore, any transmission is at your own risk. Once your personal data is in our possession, we apply our strict procedures and security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.
9. Profiling
After obtaining the data, we perform analyses on it, resulting in a profile of you based on several categories (e.g., interests, reviews, intensity of use of the app and site). The goal is to, where possible, create more connection and dialogue with our users who are (potentially) interested in our content, products, or services. Profiling is also important because our content, communications, offers, functionalities, etc., generally better match your profile.
We use, among other things:
Data collected through cookies
The functionalities you use on the website and mobile application
Data obtained from orders (e.g., how often you use the Service, the type of orders, whether you purchase Credit or Credits+)
Review scores
Profiling may impact your privacy. If you no longer wish your information to be used for these purposes, or if you exercise your rights as stated in Article 10: The right to withdraw consent, please contact us.
10. Your Rights
Under data protection law, you have certain rights regarding the data we hold about you. To protect your data, we must verify with each request whether it actually originates from you and will ask you to identify yourself. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer. For more information about your rights, you can contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority. You have the following rights:
The right of access: If you wish to access the data we have collected about you, please contact Bebop.
The right of rectification: Requested data can be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You can request us to rectify these errors by contacting us (see Contact Details). Please note that the right of rectification is not intended to correct impressions, opinions, or conclusions with which a user of the service disagrees.
The right to be forgotten: This right, simply put, means you can request us to erase or delete the information we hold about you. You can contact us for this (see Contact Details). This right is not absolute and only applies in certain cases.
The right to restrict processing: You have the right to have the further use of your personal data 'blocked' or 'suppressed'. If the processing of your personal data is restricted, we can still store it (we just no longer use it). However, in this case, we can no longer provide a properly functioning service.
The right to data portability: This means you have the right to receive your personal data and contributions to the service in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. However, this is not a general right, and there are exceptions. Contact us if you would like to know more.
The right to lodge a complaint: Under privacy law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority against this processing of your personal data.
The right to withdraw consent: If you have given us consent to something we do with your personal data (i.e., if we rely on your consent as a legal basis for processing certain personal data), you can withdraw that consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us. However, withdrawing your consent does not make our use of your personal data at the time you consented unlawful.
The right to object to processing. You have the right to object to certain types of processing, including for direct marketing and profiling. You can object by switching off or contacting us (see Contact Details), or by disabling cookies.
11. Cookies

12. Direct Marketing
If you have given us permission to do so, or if we have a legitimate reason to do so (and are legally permitted to do so), we will use your personal data to inform you about other products and services we believe may be of interest to you. We may contact you by email or telephone for this purpose.
13. Changes to the Privacy Policy
Any changes to our privacy policy will be posted on the website, and where applicable, we will notify you of the changes, for example by email, push notification, or by asking you to reconsider the then-current privacy policy.
